Health & Wellness Facts

There are certain things that everyone should know about health and our bodies. So here are some random facts and some tips that you may surprise you and help you on your well-being 


1. Stress has a negative effect on your skin, making you look older.




For example, stressful environments can prompt people to eat poorly, forget to take their vitamins, or take up smoking, all of which might contribute to visible aging. Changes in weight, can also contribute to wrinkly skin.

  Ways to reduce stress:  

♦ Avoid people who stress you out
♦ Be more assertive.
♦ Focus on the positive.
♦ Don’t try to control the uncontrollable. 
♦ Share your feelings. 
♦ Set aside relaxation time.
♦ Adopt a healthy lifestyle 



2.  Chocolate does not necessarily give you pimples.


Unhealthy skin or the consumption of fatty foods can promote the formation and recurrence of pimples. 

However, acne is due to a couple of things
♦ Genetics
♦ Puberty
♦ Dead skin cells left behind
♦ Dairy products and high glycemic index foods. etc. 



3.  Banging your head against a wall burns 150 calories an hour.




This would probably lead to a concussion. Please don't do this. 







4. Laughter is healthy and lengthens your life.


Laughing improves blood circulation and thus keeps your arteries healthy. People who laugh a lot are much healthier than those who don't.

Six-year-olds have it best - they laugh an average of 300 times a day. 

Adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day.






5. You are about 1 centimeter taller in the morning than in the evening.



On average, upon getting up in the morning, we are about 1 cm taller than during the day; in the evening happens the opposite, with a variation of about 2/3 cm throughout the day.

6. Onions keep cholesterol levels low. 



Onions contain high levels of flavonoids and polyphenols. This helps control your cholesterol levels and lower blood pressure. So why not add some onions in your dishes! It's doing you good.













7. The tongue provides information about possible heath problems.

- Slightly Damp

What are some indications of some heath problems?
- Cracks
- Swelling 


8. Tea heaps cure the common cold. 



Not only that, teas provide us with potential benefits in particular, to fight cancer and heart disease.








9. Chewing gum helps against ear infections.



Chewing gum containing xylitol, a sweetener, may reduce the risk of ear infections.











10. Sharing mascara is the most common way to pass on eye infections. 



It can do more than just make your lashes longer. it can lead to eye infections, such as conjunctivitis.









11. The human brain stops growing at the age of 18.




The brain does not grow; rather, it develops in an intricately orchestrated. 
After age 18 it begins to lose more than 1,000 brain cells each day.
